hello new here, with a suspect bad battery. no codes yet, car has alot of power.
other than poor fuel mileage , does taking off at a stop make that an issue of the car with bad voltage...
i have a small virbration when taking off if battery is low..T.Y

A 2ZZ engine even in Corolla trim without the Atkinson cycle doesn't have lots of power so I'm not sure what we're talking about with the Atkinson cycle in the Prius same 2ZZ engine okay plenty of power got it. Jackrabbit starts and take offs do no favors to the Prius gas mileage or any of the rest of it so if that's your thing you know maybe you want to be in a Corolla s. When you say bad gas mileage what is bad gas mileage are you keeping track or are you just looking at the screen or how are we doing this put in 10 gallons drive 420 mi fill back up with the same 10 gallons maybe? When these things start acting up 38 39 mi per gallon is about what will be expected when they're running correctly driven by people that drive the car that aren't just carried around by the car 46 47 is pretty normal. Folks who claim they're getting 5051 and 55 I don't know them personally but they probably drive like that they're not the people you want to ever be behind I'm thinking I work on a bunch of these cars in my local area and the people that talk about 51 to 53 mi to the gallon are the kinds of people you would never want to be behind going somewhere. We generally get between 42 and 47 depending on a bad day a crappy Prius gets 40 miles to the gallon generally speaking till it's smoking and knocking anyway especially in the generation 3 models.

The reason why I asked this. Is I am not an easy driver 35 mpg is great for me. But since brought in June 200k. I cleaned egr. Cooler. Manifold.compression good. No oil burning. No coolant loss. Small hesitation during acceleration sometimes during take off with battery low.
Tested bad last week dr pruis.
Especially during the heat of 80 2 days ago.
    Battery temp was 117.
Brought a fan on ebay comming today. Brought some good cells. Going to change out them this week. And balance them. Just baffled over this. It's a good 2011. Plugs were changed..by me..not long ago. But when the battery gets low. It charges fast now and discharges fast. But that night 2 days ok. Dr pruis say fair 48%.
I think bad or weak fan. Or clogged and a couple of weak cells
Need the car till Saturday to drive it. I got all the meters parts . Charger . Dischargers etc. Thanks for any advice . I put 10,000 Mike's on car no problems. Just very dirty erg. Manifold. Cooler . All cleaned...t.y.

EGR cleaning at 200k was the first? That is very late in the day. Seller might have added stop-leak.

If you're sure it's not the ICE, you may want to get the hybrid battery tested. I've heard aftermarkets run around $2,500 (much cheaper than a Tesla's $17,000!!)

Guy by me with 1 year warranty wants $1100. Green tech 1 yr $1200.
I am not sure ,are we buying a warranty only with checked cells. 10 years at Cadillac. 5 at Toyota. But not engine repair. Body repair. Many friends were and are mechanics. That was in florida. Wpb. I am in phila.
Got a charge and discharer coming today.
If head gasket goes I will replace it myself.
Next what could go wrong brake booster interior and body good . White. Color. Not great body but nice.

I will be fine. Thanks all it's an uber car. If it was not. I would not even look at the battery now . No codes.thanks all.
