Car beeps / chirps / honks when starting

    A couple of weeks ago, my 2010 Prius IV started one beep / chirp / honk whenever I started the car. Sounds like its coming from the horn.

    Any idea what is causing this sound? And how to resolve it?

    maybe a low fob or 12v battery?

    Three thoughts: 1) the Prius will flash a message on the screen to explain a beep it makes when it notices something amiss, so try looking at the dash next time you power up for such a message, 2) try pushing the power button without foot on brake: first push turns on accessory mode (radio), second push turns on all electronics (dash lights up). See if any of these actions causes your beep. 3) If nothing else suggests any explanation, check your 12V battery!
