Can't disable seatbelt beep

i thought you needed a scanner?

 

you may be right. i thought you needed tech stream, but just guessing.

 

i just crank the stereo loud enough to cover the stupid seatbelt beep...

 

oh ya how do you get the beeping to stop

 

ask your dealer. some will, some won't. or just put on the seatbelt.

 

Simple.
Sit in seat.
Buckle the belt around you.
Start car.
Beeper will NEVER go off.
Problem solved.

You always seem to remember when it beeps, while you're seated in the driver's seat

 

That box becomes a projectile in an accident just the same as a body does. Any package should never be unsecured in the front seat.

 

Really to each their own. And I really mean that.

But I've had difficulty grasping how in a society, and technological culture where nearly everything beeps, vibrates, clicks or amplifies, people get so hung up about the temporary beeping of either a back-up warning OR a seat belt reminder.

I'd like to disable the guy behind me in the supermarket line who thinks his Cell Phone having the theme to Dukes of Hazzard as it's ring tone is clever. So clever he let's it play for 15-20 seconds as he tries to figure out how to answer his own phone.

But really, any noise my vehicle has been designed to make, that it makes...
Has never been a huge concern to me.

 

What is REALLY irritating is people who create their own irritating situations and then complain to the world about it.
JUST GET INTO THE HABIT OF BUCKLING THE DAMN BELT ***FIRST*** AND THEN THERE IS NO PROBLEM.

No, you are looking for help in making something you have work EXACTLY AS YOU WANT IT TO WORK, never mind that there are other ways to solve the problem you have artificially created for yourself.

What you want to do also potentially disables a safety feature of the vehicle and could be a serious problem if/when somebody else drives it.

Things won't always work exactly as you think they should.
Your parents and/or your schools should have taught you that you just need to GET OVER IT.

 

lighten up sam. and do I really need a seatbelt to go 25 mph down my street to the post office? some of us don't mind taking a miniscule chance that we're not gonna get hit on local roads at low speeds where the seatbelt doesn't help much. it should be an adult driver's choice if he wants to buckle up any way, not some useless bureaucrats. next they'll want to put a seat belt on my chopper...
