Hypothetically, will any Toyota dealer sell you the extended warrenty? Let's suppose, for sake of argument, you don't want to buy one thru Troy. Could you shop price for the warranty from many dealers?
I think so. You're buying a Toyota product that Toyota sells through a dealer, who gets a commission for sellling it. The salesman who made the sale also gets a commission, which explains whay they're so pushy. I was talked into buying an extended warranty for our 2005 ScionXB and went back the next day to cancel it and get a refund; I heard the manager tell the cashier to cancel the salesman comission.
Not only can you, you might want to do it through PriusChat! I got mine for a bit under 1k and it is a standard Toyota warranty. Check into it. Some have used it as a bargaining chip with their dealer.
