Can you alter the performance characteristics of the battery?

I love my C, but sometimes I wish I could squeeze a little more from my battery before the ICE kicked in. Not like, I wish it would last longer, but I am usually good on flat ground until about 35mph, but I can't cruise at 40mph on just battery. Most of my daily commute is 40mph and under and I would like to utilize the battery better. Is this something I can change?

Trade it in for a PIP.

    Seriously, no.

That energy in the battery has to come from somewhere and most of it comes from the gas engine.
Just simply using the battery more won't necessarily be better.
