Can a small teardrop camper be towed with a 2008 Prius?

Yes... But it'll take a big bite out of your MPG and make your car less stable at freeway speed... How much weight do you want to haul? Best solution is to mount a cargo carrier on the back of the vehicle and design some covering to shape it like a boat-tail and you'll actually be able to improve MPG. I was thinking a teardrop should weigh around 500 pounds +/-. I can't park our 5th wheel but for short trips the Prius and a teardrop should manageable. Thanks.

It's not exactly a teardrop, but it is about 560 pounds...

Nice! BTW, how is the plate put on front of the Prius? Mine doesn't have a holes or a mounting bracket for a plate.
