Anyone use this on caliper slide pins? ......I tried & it swelled the pin rubber bushings......same thing when I used it on my kitchen/faucet O/rings (it takes two men & a boy now, to swing the faucet! )....
I use this stuff to lubricate the sliding metal parts. I do not, however, use it on the rubber parts. For that I use pure silicone dielectric grease, For plumbing o-rings I use Vaseline petroleum grease.
The fact that Toyota over and over and over tells us just what stuff to use for that seems to inspire an amazing number of threads on PriusChat about what stuff to use instead. The Toyota-specified stuff, for what it's worth, is not a silicone, it is a glycol base, lithium thickened. A little packet of it comes in every Toyota caliper rebuild rubber kit, so there's often no need to buy a tube.

I've used it on other cars (Civic, Subaru, Lexus, Mercury) w/o problems, but thanks for the head's up and will use whatever Toyota recommends on the P. On water faucets use only lubes known to be non-toxic - purchase "Plumber's Grease", there are conventional and silicone versions, both work.
Cause there are rubber parts surrounding the caliper pin, it requires a grease that can handle non metal. Silicone is best known for that, but that Toyota rubber grease probably works as well. Not sure why so many greased advertise for calipers when many times there are rubber components surrounding it on the rubber bushings or some rubber on the pin itself.
