Cabin Filter: Original vs. Fram Fresh Breeze

The more pleats the larger the surface area, so more filtering on the OEM filter. CFM air flow should change as well. Will the Fram still work...sure. My 02.

 

Not to start any flames except if the Fram is of a better quality filter media they would not need as much of it to get the same results as the OE filter.

I like the idea of a fresh filter......since my wife is a smoker...

I just bought the fram filter and placed it in my car. The nullification of smells with the carbon filter makes the fram worth it over the OEM filter IMO.

 

I concur, I use the Fram and it seems to make the air smell better.

I know some ppl just buy a standard filter and leave an air freshener on it.

I'd probably try the Fram unit, unless they put some goofy scent in it.
My $0.02.
My company will almost certainly not buy a CAF for this car, so if/when it gets changed, it's probably gonna have to come out of my pocket.

I misread the title as 'farm fresh'.

After washing the original filter with nice-smelling soap and sprinkling some baking soda on it, the interior air quality improved noticeably.

 

I'll probably try a Fram anti-stink filter too. If you are trying to avoid spending money on your company car, have you noticed that people have successfully washed their CAFs?

Fram Fresh Breeze Part No: CF10285

 

I put in the Fram CAF recently. I noted that it didn't fit as well as the OEM - I had to squash it a bit to get it in. Fram may have made it a bit too thick. The one I purchased claimed to have filtering properties like the 3M Filtrete furnace air filters, in that the material would electrostatically trap very small particles.

 

Sorry to revive such an old topic post, but I need to ask which direction of the arrow on the Fram Fresh Breeze filter should it go in? The arrow on the Fram filter says air flow, but the arrow on the OEM toyota filter says up? How would I go on installing the Fram filter? arrow pointing up or down? Thanks and sorry again for the post.

 

Did you notice if the dirty side of the old filter is up or down? That would be the side air flows into the filter. Arrow would point the other way.

I think the correct way of cleaning is with compressed air, not washing.
