I wouldn't vote for a Fresno plant. There's a Toyota plant in Princeton, IN (I think it's there, or Jasper, IN?) which would be much better suited for supplying the midwest and East coast. Let's face it, the bane of our frustration on this side of the Rockies is the fact that all the cars hit port on the West coast and stay there.

:guns: Selfish greedy West Coast so-n-so's.

ANYWHERE in the U.S. is fine with me. With Ford and GM cutting back on production because of poor sales, there should be people to fill any positions, though I know it will be several years before a Prius plant can be on line. Toyota is also investing a lot in the Detroit area with a new technical center and test track facility near Ann Arbor.

gee according to Mr. Ford wouldnt toyota have a problem finding quality suppliers??

or does that only apply to lame whinny-assed companies like his?

i think it would be great to give the talented US auto industry employees a chance to work for a quality company.

You have us west coast folk all wrong. We’re just trying to spread the good air farther. After all, the wind in North America blows from west to east. We are doing the entire continent a favor by keeping all of the Prii for ourselves! Ya, that’s it. That’s the ticket!

keep it built in Japan, the quality of the US built Toyota is no where near the quality of the Japan built Toyota. From someone who works on them.
