I'M GONNA ASK YOU GUYS AGAIN! Gen III 2010, 6800 miles. Silver. Fuzzy dice. Pads are still rattling in the calipers when I hit bump when foot is not on brake. It sounds like hell! ...like major suspension components are loose, although I know they are not. Two Toyota dealers have told me this is normal, and no danger. ...no dealer fix. I am anal about unnecessary noises made by airplanes I fly, and cars I drive. Does anyone have a fix?
The fix is very easy for the dealer. They lubricated the caliper slide pins and the noise went away, never to be heard again.
They replaced my pins and guides. Now that I know what it is, will use anti-sieze when the noise returns.
I had my front tires off today and found I could "rattle" my front calipers, even though the bolts securing them were tight. I've noted a rattle from the front when I hit a road reflector. Guess I'll go see the dealer this week.
FYI, a new TSB for this issue: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...ing/97917-tsb-front-brake-caliper-rattle.html
