2008 Prius, 228k The accumulator has been makeing weird noises for a while. I made several posts regarding this. Replaced the part with one from a salvage yard.. yesterday. Took me approximately 5 hours. Was a bit of a pain in the butt but nothing anyone with decent mechanical skills could not do. Wanted to let everyone know that the pump I out in DID NOT HAVE the same number as the one that was in there. Or the one that Toyota said I needed to have. I did some research that led me to believe that it doesn't actually matter which model pump you put in... There are 3 choices here. Also I did not replace the resistor. Car seems to work just fine.. no codes, and all functions as it should.. Now I can't guarantee that FOR SURE it doesn't matter which part number pump you put in the car. I guess it's possible that the one I happened to get was compatible. It did come from the same year or possibly an 09. If anyone wants to know which part # was in the car and what it was replaced with I can try and find out.. I believe it's in the recipe from the salvage yard. Just wanted to let you guys know what I discovered. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Yes have tech stream,. Just need that to bleed the brakes... And clear any codes. There is a procedure in TS, for bleeding the system after the accumulator is changed. It's slightly different than the regular procedure.. took me 5 hrs to remove and replace all if it. Then some additional time bleeding and checking things. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
