Verizon does not allow phone book transfers! It really sucks!

If you look through some of the threads on this, some people have found work arounds by using their PC.

    Goodluck!

You have a 2004, right? There's a cheat that sorta works, as long as it isn't a lot of numbers. It's faster doing than telling.

Enter all your numbers as POIs in the NAV system. Yes, one by one. When ever you touch an icon on the map, or bring it up from the database, an INFO button appears. Touch that and you'll get a screen with the name, address and phone number. There is also a green phone icon. Touch that it'll dial. If you have the NAV override, this can be done while driving.

The Razr may be able to be hacked.

My understanding is that it's a Verizon-specific thing. So, if you have Verizon, probably not. If you have someone else as your carrier, maybe.

You can also get a cheap non-Verizon BT phone off of eBay and use it to send the phonebook.

Do you have the latest firmware for that phone?

Verizon did not enable the OBEX on the RAZR when it first came out. As i learned a few weeks ago on another thread discussion this issue, a software update which was released in late April now makes it possible to upload contact information from the phone to the car. Search the Audio and Electronics forum for the specifics.

I have a 2006 and have been able to use the bluetooth fine with my Motorola V551. My problem is that I can't get my phone book loaded into the car! I've followed the instructions on the manual until it says "Under Transfer" (meaning it's transfering the data from the phone to the car?) Anyway, the screen then just sits there and does nothing for a long time, until I get tired of waiting and give up! Am I doing something wrong? Is there a trick to this that I don't know about? Please help!

BTW, my service is through Cingular in Southern California.

I have Cingular in Long Island, New York...with a new RAZR....took me hours, but when I got to that screen that just "sits there" I figured out that I could only send one address at a time...so I select the
address (highlight it), then go to the menu in the Address Book, scroll back one item to SEND...hold phone near screen that says "Under Transfer" and select "SEND"...it will send that address..

Once I had all the numbers in that I wanted, I went back and voice tagged (took a while to find the down area for that as well) 20 and put 17 in Speed Dial....find I use Speed Dial mode mostly.

A nuisance, but after I did all this, I went back to a Cingular dealer...and they verified this is only way to download book..one by one.
