Your car has bluetooth built in. The car also has voice command, including of the bluetooth, and including dialing. You can see the voice command button on the steering wheel. You can command it to dial a number by saying the number, or you can command it to dial a stored number by saying that (but you must store the number -in the car- first). You can't command the car to dial a number stored in the phone only.

To use any of this you must "pair" the phone to the car after disconnecting the blue tooth headset you are using. Think of the bluetooth as a wire connected to your phone. You can connect only one thing to the wire. The car via bluetooth or your bluetooth headset, but not both at the same time.

So you add the phone to the cars bluetooth phone devices screen. Then you connect to the phone in a second step. Then you can transfer phone numbers to the cars phone directory, dial, let the car answer, etc. The car is just another bluetooth headset.

I've two Prius's; a 2004 and 2009. I tried the voice commend in both. It works in the 2009 but doesn't work in the 2004. I wonder if others have had the same experience?
