Has anyone else had a problem with the blind spot warning not displaying on a side mirror anymore? I noticed that ours wasn't displaying on the passenger side mirror, although I could see the yellow glow around the edges of the mirror inside the mirror housing, so it seemed like it was still working, but not attached to the back of the mirror. Took it to the dealer this week for the 10K mile service and had them look at it, they said that "it fell off" and they reattached it. They said it was held on by double sided tape. Seems like a pretty flimsy way to attach it, and I'm still not sure what caused it to fall off. Has anyone else had this problem? Also has anyone been inside that mirror and seen how it's attached. I wasn't even sure if the inside of the mirror housing was serviceable or if the whole assembly needed to be replaced as a unit.
Nothing useful to add on this particular problem, but it's an opportunity for a comedy clip. Going through the manuals, I noticed that the rear fog light on the European models is also fixed into the bumper only with double-sided tape. Although I was hoping there was some other physical support there behind it...
Does your model have heated side mirrors? There are at least 3 different mirror SKU's for Prius side mirrors now, maybe more. Finding out which mirrors belong on your car makes it a lot easier to figure out how it works and what can break inside it.
It's a 2023 LTD, USA with the Self Parking option, so there's cameras in the mirrors. I believe all USA 2023 Prius's have heated mirrors standard, no powered folding, and no turn signal lights on the mirror housing. So the only variable that I'm aware of is the parking/panoramic cameras which I have.
I think all later-gen Priuses have mirror defoggers. All Gen 5 Priuses have BSM. Very few Gen 5 Priuses have a camera on the mirror for PVM.
