I also found your video online and it looks very easy to install.
I've also read the disclaimer on your products description and ordering page and the disclaimer also makes a lot of sense.
I have two questions. Does the ( Gen 4 kit) CAT ARMOR™ 2016 - 2022 Prius (Medium Plate)
also fit on the Prius Prime Cats? And, do you endorse any of the other Cat Anti theft techniques to complement your Cat Armor, like paint and etch?

My Review of the product:

Imho, they should offer the included break-away nuts, and standard nuts.

The break-away nuts are good for people that are concerned about a targeted thief.
However, In general, cat convertor thieves will only carry a battery-powered sawsall.
But, especially in Calf and other CARB-complient required States (Mass, CT, NY...), if a thief knows of an easy access Prius, they may go back multiple times to steal a cat from the same vehicle. That happens more than people think.
So, in those cases, having a "security nut/bolt/whatever" is highly desired/required.


Cons:
o No Standard bolts included.

o They don't offer the "universal protector plate" separately (the rear protector of 2010 - 2015 Prius combo).
o Imho, selling that plate alone, along with both break-away nuts and standard nuts, would be a great option (easy to install, low cost) for many vehicles. Especially SUVs. Btw, that plate is also very easy for anyone, or any company to copy and also sell. Or, for someone to make themselves.

o It's not as much of a visual deterrent or access deterrent as a MILLERCAT Cat Shield™ .
Imho, a thief could cut through the front-section of the front catalytic convertor - right behind the first shield.
Then, cut the exhaust pipe in the rear exhaust (along with cutting through any heat recovery wires/hoses/tubes).
That may take 2-3 mins, verses the typical ~15-30 seconds.
Imho, that would likely be done by a returning thief. As I said, for cars with easy access and CARB catalytic convertor, multiple thefts do happen all too often.

Imho, a MILLERCAT Cat Shield makes things much harder to access, for any generation of Prius.


Pros:
It looks like one of the best cat convertor schemes that provides a realistic deterrent, however, it doesn't impact the possible heat build up from an engine/cat running constantly in bumper-to-bumper non-moving traffic on a sunny blazingly hot day.
Thankfully, I don't live in Phoenix, nor Las Vegas.
However, as much as I like the MillerCat Cat Shield, it's hard to recommend it to someone that spends time in bumper-to-bumper afternoon traffic in Phoenix.


NickPick Cons:
They have a domain name, but they redirect to a sites.google web site?
Imho, I would feel less confident about buying from:
sites.google.com view MYSITE-EXAMPLE.COM home
verses
MYSITE-EXAMPLE.com

I am not familiar with how sites.google web sites are built, or can how they can be built.

However, the web-page shows smaller web-page/browser reduced-size pictures of the combos (horrible/foolish waste of bandwidth/time for mobile users). And, those smaller-photos are not "clickable" to show a large picture of the combo.
To be specific, for pictures of their combos, they load/read/download a picture that is 1280x1707 from the web. However, the browser(e.g. Firefox Windows) re-scales the picture to ~266x355.
Btw, a web browser can be told to resize a picture to any size. Foxnews is infamous, and horrible, with having their web page download 2MByte full-size photos for each photo, only to have the web browser then resize the photo to less than a tenth of it's size.
(Yea, I taught various engineering classes for a while. )

I'll pass on this one and stick with the conventional cat shield.

 

I recently put this at the rear cut zone of our 2010, with Permatex Red ThreadLock (the permanent kind, requires torch to soften) on the two most accessible nuts/bolts. It's at least "hardened" the target some?

LOL is it time to put your PiP in HV mode just to check and make sure the engine is still there?
edit: You've still got the Gen 3 engine? ie: No Gen 4 engine to PiP conversion yet?

 

what's the point, it only has 20-25k

 

If I still had my PiP and only 20k I might think about how much it would bring in the CA market. I was told that is where my 14 PiP went after I turned it in a few years ago.

 

believe me, i'd love to sell our cars/house/and anything else not nailed down right now. we are in unchartered waters.
we sold our cape house back in 2012, it has doubled in value since.

i was talking to a builder today, he has built 9 houses in the last yer, and cannot finish any of them.

 

That's what seems to be flowing up; and down the grapevine. Some of it's got to be just a bit of hype though, it can't all be accurate assessments, can it/? I've got lots of stuff I'd like to sell too. The only thing is when I get rid of something I need it the very next day and curse out load about letting it go so cheap.

 

idk how much is hype, but i do see the outrageous home prices, and my pip was only worth about 8k a couple years ago.
now, 8k seems to buy you an '07 with 150,000 miles

 

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my questions. Next time I have the Prime on jack stands I'm going to take my first look at the 2nd cat and the heat pump. I can only imagine what it would be like under there if a sawsall was taken to the cat in my car.
The way things are going these days, most everyone has to think like the criminal element of our society or become a victim of some crime or scam ( as many crimes are referred to as now ). Scams must be the way the governments keeps crime statistics lower than they actually are, I think everyone is aware how high the scam rate is these days. And only recently (2 years ago?) was cat theft designated as a crime..
