I was curious, I really love our Prius and all of its features. However does anyone know if Toyota plans on making the car a little longer or wider in 2008? What are the changes for 2008? Does anyone know what we have to look forward to? I was thinking of trying to hold out for the 2008 model, my 2004 just hit 45k..
According to the spy pics I posted, it seems like the chassis will be the same so expect the same wheelbase. I don't know about length or width. It would be cool if they have a Prius Plus (e.g. mpv style... Mazda5/Corolla Verso)
I was hoping ther might lengthen the prius a cpl of inches. The car is wonderful but would be even more cool as a wagon with hatchback rear..

Back in 1980 the Corona was the middle of Toyota's car line with the Corolla being the small car. The Corona was replaced by the Camry. If you're listening Toyota. I sincerely hope the answer is a resounding NO NO NO to making the Prius bigger. America has quite enough oversized vehicles, thank you. The Prius is just fine where it is. Please, Please resist the temptation to 'upsize' with every redesign. That's how we got where we are now. I can't think of a worse thing to do to the Prius.
2008 Toyota Corolla Expect Toyota to get edgier with its next-generation Corolla, hitting showrooms in late 2007--especially after Toyota execs demanded a last-minute redesign after seeing the daring Civic at the Geneva Motor Show. Toyota follows this this forum carefully. That's why in response to so many requests for adjustable seats they have given us a chrome grille, a hybrid badge, and prettier headlights. :blink:
Indeed. As much as I wish the Prius can be a bit wider, I like the manoeuvrability of the current Prius. I can squeeze by traffic quite easily with a short hood and narrow chassis. I would never attempt the same feat with the Camry.

:lol: :lol: Im not talking about the old camry wagon style just a model with a matrix rear that wagon style.. Im hearing a few say they would like a 2 dr model, they could put the synergy drive in a yaris 2dr for that.. The Prius in a hatchback sedan is a fine automobile! but it mite be nice to have a cpl of different body styles offered on the most popular vehicle being sold... I have heard in japan they have a hybrid minivan, that has the same front as the prius...

I really loved the car -- its handling and comfort -- but I always felt it was unnecessarily big for me. Usually, it was just me -- sometimes one or two other people in the car. It was nice if I was driving to lunch or something and could take four passengers comfortably, but now I don't drive to work, so I hardly ever need to drive that many people. Of course, if you have a large family that you have to transport on a regular basis, the Prius might be a little small. Then maybe go for the Camry Hybrid. (BTW, I never liked the Camry. Haven't driven one recently but when I test drove one in the past I always felt the suspension was way too slushy and I didn't like the styling at all.)
