I know that there is a general thread elsewhere on the forum for applications that read OBDII data but can someone recommend an iPhone one for the Prius? Does anyone know if these can be used as trend monitors? In other words, can all the data be recorded (e.g. snap shotted) on a given time interval (say 1 second or 5 seconds or ???) and then looked at afterward to look for trends. Having a great baseline of how the car is running when new would provide invaluable diagnostic data when, and if, down the road, something isn't quite right.

    Thanks,

    Phil

I've only found "Engine Link" in the iPhone app store for our 2012 PiP Advanced. I have a wireless OBD plugged into the port under the dash. Does not show much except normal car functions...tach, temp, speed, etc. I'd REALLY like something that shows the Lithium battery SoC and whatnot. So anyone know if this exists? for iPhone? I think the "Torque" app is NOT iPhone?

And please, the Entune crap is just that. I'm NOT paying $140 for a year of safety connect just to turn the A/C on remotely from my phone.

    Thanks!

    Entune is 140/year ???
Sorry if this is old news, I'm slowly learning about the PiP and will probably purchase one in the next year or two.

You can get new Android smart phones for as little as $10. Torque is free and the OBD2 Elm237 device is about $10 or less.

Just get a dedicated Android phone to keep an eye on the Prius.

The Advanced Apps also include remote monitoring of the charge level and locating the car (like in a giant parking lot, or theft recovery). Safety Connect provides On*Star-like features like automatic dispatch of emergency response in case of an accident and emergency road service.

How much these are worth to a particular person is entirely subjective. It happens to be worth it to me.
