I would avoid Dianne unless you want to be paying regular msrp. Car can be had right away for invoice (700 below msrp) at Cerritos Toyota.

If you are planning to come to the LA area, AutoNation Toyota in Cerritos, California, is very honest. I sold a newer Toyota during the Toyota sudden-acceleration scandal, which had driven down the prices of used Toyotas like crazy. Yet, AutoNation Toyota gave me a great buying price (much higher than any other dealer) and they were very, very professional.

Apparently, Longo Toyota in El Monte (in LA area) is the biggest Toyota dealer in the world. They are probably pricier than some other dealers but they probably have the largest inventory. The place is like a city in itself.

I also went to the Carson Toyota (in LA area) many times for parts and their part department was very professional. They also have an online discount site -- Carson Toyota/Scion/Lexus Ultimate OEM Parts -- if you want to also get accessories or parts (no shipping charge for local pickup).

I don't have much experience with Downtown LA Toyota but they advertise a lot.

You cans also check cars.com for the inventories near a given ZIP code or city.

Autonation Cerritos is the best. Without haggling, sent me a price several hundred under msrp right off the bat. Gave me clear pricing on OTD. No dealer add ons.

At the end, I did not purchase from them since they did not have my color /model combo.

This thread should be discussed in the prices paid. I will update my price paid when I get up in the morning. Goodnight all.

Thats a Toyota rebate for non Toyota financing good until Jan 3rd. Their fiscal year ends on Jan 3rd so they are making a final push for sales by incentivizing potential buyers. All dealerships have this. I.E. get $1,000 off if you show up with your own Credit Union financing or pay in cash.

If you're refering to post #3 then its a total of $1,700 off the top. BUT you need to buy before the 3rd of January since the $1000 portion ends by then which is a bit tricky if they dont have a color combo that you like.

The Googles say that Prime Premiums are $28.8K and Toyota says that they're 28.8K.

What's up with the extra $1400?
    Also....$264 for tag and registration???
Interestingly enough the doc fee isn't all that high but I'd check on the $20 Smog abatement fee......I thought Priuses were exempt.

The OTD price should be closer to 30 flat.....but hey.....demand is high. ;)

Are you sure you're not looking at the Plus model? This is for the Premium and Blizzard Pearl White, with mandatory floor mats that comes with all vehicles direct from Factory. That's the MSRP.

Sales tax is at 8% and fees is due to - California robbery.

    prius prime - Google Search

    Pretty sure.
The Googles got that price from Toyota because.....(wait for it......)..............that's what they do.
2017 Toyota Prius Prime Plug-In Hybrid | Let's imagine the new possible.

Some of the delta is probably delivery and non-optional options.....like floor mats, or glass etching, or any of the other "value-adders."
I usually START negotiating at MSRP minus delivery and go from there.....but then.......I never, ever, buy new, first year models.
I'm not so much worried about undetected design flaws as I am from getting shanked by dealers who are pretty good at smelling drool from early adopters.

    YMMV......

PS.....floor mats are only mandatory if the buyer is hungrier than the seller.

the plus is 28k including destination. some paint $400. mats $250. else $150. = $28,800.

the premium says: FROM $28,800. which probably doesn't include destination.

plus says: FROM $27,100. which doesn't include destination.

    so a premium @ $30,284, would be $28,800. plus $895. destination, plus $395. paint, mats $194. = $30,284.00

that fed tax credit is tricky to work with. I need to make sure i owe the fed at least $4500 in order to take full advantage of the credit. grrrrrrr

Since the green sticker is now unlimited, i dont see the sale value on a 3 year old prius prime looks bright. So i dont think i can sell a 3 yeard old prime for what i owe. i might be 2000 below water.

For what my little brain can understand, if i buy and financed through toyota @ 0.9% for 60 months for a prime prime (MSRP 34,000 after tax and fee for easy calc), my monthly payment will be roughly $580. With the $4500 broken down into 36 monthly income that makes $125 dollar. So truely i would be paying $455 a month for 36 months. Note i will be selling the prime after 3 years. With the above $2000 below water sale price taken into account, i would be paying $510 monthly for 36 months.

To lease and loose the $4500 fed credit to toyota who is not incorporating the credit towards the lease program will run me around $480 a month for 36 month.

Correct me if my math or method of thinking is wrong.

Best way to do this is to look at your prior year's tax return. Provided your tax situation hasn't changed drastically in the past year, it should give you an idea of what your tax liability is this year. As long as your tax liability (line 47 of your 1040) is above $4,500, you'll get the full tax credit (barring any other credits you may be eligible for).

Keep in mind that the tax credit is applied to your tax liability after deductions, not to your amount after withholdings are applied. For example, if your tax liability is $10,000, and you had $10,000 withheld, you would not owe anything. However, with the tax credit of $4,500, your tax liability is now only $5,500 (liability minus credit), so you would then receive a refund of $4,500.

With this logic then I can just take a higher number of deductions so that I pay less tax per pay period (which also means I am slowly getting a portion of the $4500 each pay period). If done correctly I would have no tax refund or additional tax payments required for tax year 2017. Does my assumption make sense?
