It has been VERY cold here....minus 12 degrees last night...
we left the Prius out..and the work truck in the garage...when we went switch them this am the Prius would not go into drive. Had to activate the power button twice before it would go into gear to bring it into the garage. is this normal???

Sounds like a coincidence. Being inattentive from the cold is entirely possible.

-18°F is what my Prius sat outside in yesterday while I worked. Started up perfectly afterward.

By the way, it was -22°F during the drive to work this morning. Got photos to document the event... hoping it won't ever that extreme again... wanting to try out the 2010 solar-panel.

I have a heated attached garage for my primary house, and a detached insulated workshop at my hobby farm. I rarely leave the vehicles outside

However, I still like to test them to see if they will start at -40. The Prius absolutely will start at those temps, but like most vehicles, will complain about it. The coolant transfer pump really squeals, things are very stiff, etc
