How long should it take for an experienced toyota service center to replace a hybrid battery.

I've had estimates on anything from 4-10 hours which seems a bit diverse.

    thank you in advance!

I think 4 hours is probably about right.

It takes probably half an hour to take out the seats, the carpet in the trunk, unscrew all the screws, and remove the pack from the car.

Then it takes a good hour or more to change over all the parts from the old pack to the new pack. That would include the computer, the relays, the busbars, the gas hoses, etc.

Then you have to put it all back together.

However.. The "official" toyota instructions requires the technician to take apart the inverter and remove the HV lines before doing the battery service, as a precaution in case the car rolls. But from what I am told, very few technicians actually do this. That would add another half-hour or so.

I don't see that in the 2G repair manual, and no longer have my Classic repair manual. That seems like a waste of time, just set the parking brake and leave the car in P...
