As the title states. It seems like the hatch release button is sticking due to the melting rubber. Would this cause a parasitic drain on the 12v battery?

    Thanks in advance.

There's the hatch area light that might be staying on. It's got a switch. All those dang footwell lights stay on too, any time the hatch is up. No switch on them I think.

You have an indicator on the dash that tells you if the hatch (or any door) is not latched. It wouldn't latch at all if the release button was stuck down.

Thanks guys. I'm going to replace the switch and the battery and hope that the problem will be solved.
