Battery dead after front brake job

A couple of questions:
1. Why did you change, only the R/F caliper and pads? Rust?
2. Did you displace any brake fluid (bleeder or brake line)?
3. Fluid level check?
The way is sounds, your brake accumulator may be running none stop. This can be a sign that the brake accumulator has failed (???) and is bypassing fluid internally. If it can’t build pressure it will just run continuously.

 

How do the brakes feel? Check the fluid. If it's emtpy, maybe you didn't tighten a connection,
or left the bleeder valve open a little.
Perhaps the caliper itself is defective and leaking?

Since you only did the one, I would check that first, before charging the 12v battery(unless
you are going to leave it disconnected).
And if there is a leak, fix it first before connecting the battery.
You'll have to fill the brake resivoir first, and please the caliper. HOPEFULLY, it didn't cause any
damage the to accumilator or motor.

 

+1 very strange to just change one side of the front brake rotors. Definitely should be done in pairs.

How old was the battery? Maybe it's just bad timing, and the battery was going to fail anyway.

I have not watched the referred video. Does it instruct to bleed fluid out from bleeder valve when pushing the pistons in? Many times pistons are just pushed in and excess fluid is sucked out from reservoir. Thats not good thing.

 

Are you sure the battery is dead? Did it go into READY mode when you tried to get the kids? What kind of strange sounds you hearing under the hood?

 

Sounds like the 12v battery is dead. Charge it up and test it.
Tackle one fault at a time, once it's starting, check for noise.
