I haven't been on here much, but I have browsed a lot. I thank you guys for all of your threads that helped me get my Prius to where it was at, but my Prius was involved in a pretty bad accident yesterday. I was rear ended by some guy who fell asleep at the wheel. He was probably travelling between 30-40mph. I may not check into this thread after this post, but I just wanted to show how the Prius held up in the accident.

    Here is the before picture:

    Here is after:

His license plate is stuck in our bumper:

The rest of the photos are here. Many of them are repetitive.

I hope you enjoy this post more than I do. ;)

Oh, and don't be fooled by the VA plates, this is in California.

Eek. Hope everyone is ok. Looks like the back structure has held quite well, while absorbing the impact. Clearly it's totalled, but you're breathing and presumably all your bones are intact.

Yeah. Went to the hospital. Gonna get second and third opinions too. I'm in a bit of pain and I know this is gonna come back and bite me in the rear later in life...

The car crumpled, as it should. I'm okay with that. It was a really shocking 3 seconds!

Don't sign any insurance releases, that bit of pain will come back, probably for the rest of your life. I'm afraid you need a lawyer.

Before letting the insurance take your Prius, contact Steve at AutoBeYours to see what he will pay for it. He repairs wrecked Prii as a business.

Hope you recover fast. Must have been a hard hit? Did you see it coming? I keep my head restraint high for this reason! H

-Haven't signed any releases and I'm working on getting a lawyer. I'm pretty sure this will be with me for life.

-AutoBeYours? I'll check it out, thanks.

-Didn't see it coming. Somebody turning left onto the street I was on cut the corner short and I was annoyed at that driver so I didn't check my rear view as usual. Total surprise attack.

-I've lived in California my whole life. It's my stepfathers car. He was in the accident too.

Like other's have said, the Prius protected you as well as it could. It is definitely time to get a GOOD lawyer. Brian Loncar is advertised a lot down here in Texas. I am sure you can find one though, as there are plenty of ambulance chasers out there. I too am glad to hear you survived it. Hope you get to feeling better soon, and yes it will probably follow you. The last one I was in definitely did a number on me.

Good luck to you, you are a survivor!

I assume the white liquid on the road at the rear of the car is milk?

At first I was wondering WTH??? but then when I went to facebook, saw a box inside the cargo area that said "keep milk cold".
