I had a 2004 Prius and was able to disable the backing up bbep sound but using the same guide I cannot eliminate that annoying sound on my new 2010 Prius, How do I do so?

    Thanks

Funny story related to this thread.

Two weeks ago I brought in my 2010 Prius IV for it's 5,000 mile oil change/tire rotation.

I made a point in telling the service writer that I wanted to change the backup beep/beep/beep to the single beep.

    1. He told me the beeping was a safety feature to warn others that I was backing up. I told him "BS", the beep is only on the inside of the car, not the outside and it did others no good whatsoever. His reaction...."Gee, I didn't know that".

    2. After my service appointment, I get in my Prius and sure enough...they didn't change the backup beep to one beep. I summoned the service writer and he got a technician (not the "regular" tech---he was at lunch) to bring his "laptop" service computer and hook it up. The tech had no idea what he was doing and even admitted so ("I have never done that before"). So, here I am looking at his laptop and trying to guess which screen and which menu the backup beep is buried in.

Eventually, we both figured it out. His response---"Wow, I learned something today".

    Great!?????
