I did a Techstream "health check" on my 2002 Prius and the only DTC I saw was for B2799, which is a hybrid control immobilizer malfunction. 1. Steering column has been damaged and the damaged switch was removed. Switch normally prevents shifting without pressing brake + shifter button. So now the car can shift without it. 2. Sometimes shifter shifts out of Park, but not quite into Reverse. At that point no "gear" on the dashboard is selected and the car does not start. Fixed by putting shifter into Park. 3. I start the car using a Lowes copy of a valet key. It's the only way for me to get an extra key since car only came with a valet key, which means no new keys to be programmed. I used to have a problem with the Lowes key not starting the car reliably, but it turned out to be an issue with the key since getting it replaced appears to have fixed the issue. Any problems to expect from that DTC?
