    1. If you use the volume knob and turn it too fast, you get set back to the begining of the track. That's not too good if the track is two hours of audiobook.

    2. The FF is extremely slow (if you can get it to work). It's faster if you revert to using the controls on the iPod.

    3. Playing around with the steering wheel controls, I held down the volume control to change playlist. Now when I hold the FF buttons on the screen, it also changes the playlist and the FF button no longer works.

    How frustrating

Which AVC-100i firmware version do you have? Which iPod?

I have 3.48 and nano as well (nano is just perfect to be left in the car without suffering from cold temperature). My main complaints are that this combination does not reliably work as promised in the vaistech FAQ regarding pause/resume on phone call or other interruptions.

Eugene told me this should be fixed with firmware 3.50 and I will send the unit back for update; just too bad that this will cost quite a bit from Germany.

Hopefully this really will be fixed with 3.50 since pause/resume is about the most important feature for me because I'm using audiobooks very often.

Anyone else using iPod nano? Other experiences?

Exact same firmware, and also with a Nano. I've been much more satisfied, but I'm not listening to iBooks.

I've also thought that the VAIS's random track selection, as opposed to the iPod's random track selection, is less, well, random.

However, "randomness" is a tough thing to chart, and it may be just the luck of the draw.
