aux input without satellite button?

I read up on the PAC aux2car (aux-box) and ab-toy y-cable. It seems like those have been used before but I have two questions.

1) Everything I'm reading requires you to have a satellite radio button on your radio. I have am, fm, tape/disc, and scan.

2) no one seems to sell the aux2car anymore (but I've found other companies that do aux inputs)

Can I still use some type of auxbox even if i do not have the satellite button?
