I have 2004 Prius with the single CD changer. I would like to add a 1/8" input receptacle. Any help out there. That Is Audio Input Ed
So after taking some time to take apart my dash .. I found out .. that the base model 07 doesnt have any 3.5mm connectors on the back (much to my dissapointement) nor anything else for that matter .. I will post some pictures when i get back from puting it back together .. (just came here to let you all know ) still in the proccess of putting it together again

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Anai @ Sep 23 2007, 03:35 PM) </div> There is an audio input jack in the armrest of our 07' Touring Prius. I haven't tried it. But I saw it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Anai @ Sep 23 2007, 02:35 PM) </div> You are right. As I look at the spec sheet, the base model is listed as not having an mp3/CD player or aux input, just a 6 disk CD player. If it doesn't say mp3/wma on the bottom edge of the radio, it also won't have an aux input. I stand corrected.
So anyone that has a AUX plug on their center armrest took their dash apart yet? with some pics as well in order for me to see what it looks like .. maybe I can make something cheap and easy to make it work?... as there are some unused connectors in the back of my radio...
Missing the point... Mostly interested in seeing the underbelly, if you will, of a prius with opts ... so that I can compare with mine...
Quick notation.. I am willintg to bet that the nav system is where the aux on the center console connects too .. and that, the nav system, is what probably takes the signal to the stereo...... ....
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Anai @ Sep 29 2007, 07:13 AM) </div> Nope. I have the 2007 model 02 which has the base audio system with no Nav or CD changer, but it does have the aux input in the console. No separate jacks on the head unit though - although there are a couple of connections for add-on CD and satellite units. The only real hope is to use one of the after-market add-ons that plug into one of these connectors to add aux input. The DICE unit is one, although there are mixed reports about its reliability.
I have 07 Touring #6 but added a RF Modulator to add Satellite Radio, instead of using console 1/8" input. It also added power eliminating the need for a power adapter plugged into one of the 12v power ports. Paid $.99 plus shipping from eBay for Delphi SA10003. When power is drawn from this unit, it switches off the external antenna and inserts the audio from the audio input lead. There is no external radio reception to compete against like the typical rf modulator that is not installed into the antenna. Audio purest may argue for using the console input but I have the receiver in the dash and I didn't want to permanently lose the console input if I wanted to listen to something else like an mp3 player. This was installed in the space below the radio head, and behind the pocket below the radio head. I left the wiring for the fuse behind the curved lower dash panel for easy replacement. I guess I could have placed it behind the lower glove box too for even easier access. [attachmentid=11732]
That I already have .... although I am using the Scosche FM-MOD01 .. but... What I am interested in is finding where that aux goes too ... hey bruce .. how about you take some pics of ur aux and also maybe some pics of the wires under ur car seat .. so that I can try to distinguish the differences...
Does your radio even have an 'AUX' input selection. While there is no 1/8" jack on the rear of the radio, I would imagine you would at least need the circuitry in the radio. If you need pictures I could proabably unscrew/unbolt the console but I'm not planning on pulling the radio out to see where the wires go. I wonder if you can have two modulators in series?
.... Oh already took my dash apart 1st thing i did on the 1st weekend I had my prius... I know what the wiring is... there arent any "jacks" on the back of my radio .. .. but new pics for me to compare with mines is always a good thing .. does anyone have the back-up cam... i would like to see some pics of that as well ...
