I bought mine with 216,000 miles on it. At 240,000 it's still fine. If you press the brake pedal a few times, you should hear a rattling. If there's squeaking or other strange noises with it, your brake accumulator may be starting to go bad. There's really no way to tell if or when a brake accumulator will go bad if it has no symptoms. I would probably be more worried about batteries in a Prius of the era.

There is no magic mileage or age that makes any vehicle a "do not buy". You can have a newer low mileage vehicle that appears clean, but was badly abused and conversely an old higher mileage vehicle that was properly cared for. Which is a better bet? The older one in this example.

You're saying a 2007 Prius, which is pretty specific.
Do you already have one in mind? Picked out?

In Pakistan what would your access to parts and service be?
A 13 year old Prius, may not be the best choice, for a first ever car. NOTHING is guaranteed with a 13 year old vehicle and ascertaining condition is not as easy as just evaluating mileage and using mileage as a marker.

I tell anyone and everyone looking at Prius in your age range, that they are definitely in the range where the Hybrid Battery COULD need to be replaced.

If you're not budgeted or prepared to deal with the considerable maintenance a 13 year old Prius could require, my recommendation would be just to pass.

are you a diy type? what tools do you own? you're talking about an old car, regardless of mileage, that can be very reliable overall, but can also cost you a couple grand in an instant.

If using mileage as a measurement, please be aware that many makes/models can easily have manipulated odometers..

Don't pay a premium for a lower mileage vehicle unless you can be certain the mileage is accurate.
