I decided to put Bridgestone run flats on it. It's a level 5 with 17" wheels and I hoped we wouldn't get beaten to death with stiffer sidewalls. Well, I'm happy to report there is really no difference in the driving characteristics between the run flats and the original tires. My wife had a flat just before we decided to replace the tires and I was 100 miles away, so she ended up calling her brother to help her. One of our other cars we used to have had run flats so I decided to give them a go. Glad I did, and the price was really no different than any of the non run flat better quality tires available for it. I got them at Americas Tire Store.

Are they low rolling resistance tires?

I am assuming "Americas Tire Store" is Firestone? They have a great program where you can try a set of tires for 30 days and if you do not like the tires you can take them back.

When I needed new tires for my 05 Prius I purchased a set of Firestone tires (not low rolling resistance). I drove on them for a couple of weeks and then went back and put on the tire I really wanted. Bridgestone Ecopia LRR.

They sell many different national brands. Like I said, they are Bridgestone's. Here's a Consumer Reports review from a while back. Does the Bridgestone DriveGuard run-flat tire live up to its promise? - Consumer Reports
