Gotta love an OTR trucker with a half a mil loan on the new rig and a huge mural on both sides of the trailer that promotes the Go Green with an EV. Than the battery only lasts 250 K miles and the loan isn't even half payed off while the rig now only make 50 or 100 miles instead of the 250 the best one in the linked article gets.
The article only compares diesel usage at 6.5 to 7 gals / mile, not even a hint about how much a 250 mile range class 8 rig battery charge costs from empty. Even new EV car owners go nuts when they find out how much it costs to pump up their new packs at a DC Fast. Than many don't even know how to find one or how long it takes to get enough miles to make it home when plugged into a level 2.
I think the Go Green in a EV should be changed to Go Green if you got the Green to Go.

If L5 self driving and REAL BEVs ever get to be a 'thing' it will be in the trucking industry - so that's where you will want to plant your fall crop.

Tax kickbacks for wealthy BEV first adopters got the industry out of the womb - but there are still those troublesome childhood and teen-age years to get through.... ;)
