the plastic underneath the armrest on my 2009 Prius has cracked and now the leather sags. I'm afraid my elbow is going to poke through at some point. Is there an easy way to fix/replace this? Is it a particularly expensive part?

It's attached to the door panel with melted plastic. But you can knock the plastic off the tops and use quarter inch screws to hold it back on. Upholstery will need to be removed to cover something over the broken area then everything put back. My plastic wasn't broke but I wanted more padding and new material. Did myself since upholstery is my job.

Mine broke on the passenger side. I ended up fixing it by using hot glue and a supporting piece of plastic underneath. Took off the door panel it's easily acceptable.

Added a piece of white Styrofoam inside door panel for support. Now it is rock solid.

Yes, I think it was from a LCD TV shipping box.
