Are these rear foglights?

I've been googling and searching for rear fogs for a while, and ran across this video... When the car turns around, are the two red lights supposed to be rear fog lights (on either side of where our 3rd brake light is)?

Or, do they just have 2 of the center brake lights installed? I really like the rear fogs/driving lights/whatever they're called. I loved them when I saw them on the new Acuras a while ago.

I thought the driver's side reverse light housing would be replaced by a bright red bulb as the OEM rear fog light. It turns out looking like he is ready for the Christmas parade.

Looks like some weird mod. The official rear fogs on the gen3/2010 Prius are built into the rear light cluster. Well actually what they've done is replace one reversing light with an internal red cover. The rear fog is the one nearest the middle of the road (depending on lhd or rhd market) and is operated by turning the fog lamp switch one extra click from the front fogs setting.

They're handy in very thick dense fog but a real pita if people use them in rain as they're brighter than brake lights and really dazzle you if you're the driver behind.

Don't know why you'd want to fit them unless you have lots of fog. Not sure if they're an easy diy as the Euro rear light cluster that includes the rear fog doesn't have the red side reflector required in the US.

The rear fog lights that were on my Olds Aurora were in the bumper. They were a bright lamp......I only used them during heavy fog or during heavy snow storms.

This video that you show.....looks like a mod...

Well, here in the southeast, along the ocean, we get lots of rain. I drive everywhere on the Interstate. We're coming up (may be in?) hurricane season, and then we'll have unreal amounts of rain, day after day after day... It's quite difficult to see other cars ahead of you sometimes. I'm sure it's the same for those drivers that are coming up behind me. So, I just thought they'd be helpful. A police light would be fun to have, too, though! lol

I'm sure you can add your own (there are a few Japanese accessory suppliers that sell rear foglights). Alternatively, you can replace your driver's side reverse light with a bright red lamp (at least as bright as a brake light) and wire it up.
