OEMTEK used to produce some battery only kits for the Gen II Prius.

Just went to look them up www oemtek com and they don't look like they are in business any more.

My Prius has 100K and I'm thinking of maybe turning it into an all electric with one of the older kit. (Thinking they should be cheaper now that a full electric Prius exists).

    Thanks,
    Gw

IMHO, Prius is not a good candidate for full conversion to EV. You cannot use the transaxle, at least not easily or efficiently, and there is tight integration with the HV ECU and skid control ECU. You could spend months just dealing with the brake actuator. I think it would be way more trouble than it is worth. For what it would cost to convert a Gen II, you can buy the PHV.

Every so often, a Yaris conversion comes up on ebay. Typical is selling price of $6K, with a "needs battery pack" caveat. If you want a converted EV, that would be the way to go.
