So the title says it all...I'm looking to put some items in my new prius..a box/amp, ipod connection, and gps rear view mirror. Of course the dealership freaks out when you tell them you wanted it done somewhere else and I dont want to pay them an arm and a leg lol, but everyone else I've talked to seems just a little unsure whether they can safety install these things on the new 2010 model. So any suggestions?

Congrats on your purchase and welcome! Nope - I haven't found anywhere yet to do such mods. Which dealership? I used Larry Miller in Peoria.

The one off of camelback...yeah its really starting to get frustrating..I've had a decent system in my car for the last 5 years and now nothing!!! lol...it almost makes me regret my purchase what a pain in the nice person it is to get this done.

I was thinking of using Camelback Toyota for future maintenance. I have a friend who used them with no complaints. For me, Larry Miller Toyota is a far drive, but they cut me the best deal when I was buying. As far as an independent shop doing mods on a Gen 3, maybe some of the other Phoenix members know of a place. Circuit City used to be great, but they are long gone. If I find a place, I will pass it along. BTW, your Ipod should work in the AUX jack inside the center console. You just need a male-to-male connector readily available at Walmart.

Talk to Kyoei USA in Tempe. Although they do not specialize in audio installations, they are worth checking out, maybe they can help you out. They are OEM and aftermarket Prius parts dealers and they've actually worked on some Prius' before. Check out their blog entries, just google "Kyoei USA Prius" and it should be the first link (I can't post links unless I have 5 posts or more, sorry I browse more than I post). Their contact info is:
