I'm just wondering what your experience has been with Wireless Android Auto so far. Mine seamlessly boots up with the car maybe 20% of the time. Otherwise, I find myself waiting with a blank screen for minutes OR having to manually connect via the screen. Maybe there are some dev settings I could change?
I get the same issue also having to go into the multimedia screen every time I start the car after it's sat awhile...it forgets my Android S23+ about 60% of the time. I do frequent updates to Android Auto...on 13.5 version now....any thoughts to fix this?
I haven't found a solid "fix" yet. There are some BT settings in developer mode that play with the quality of the wireless connection but not the handshake between the phone and car. AA has always been janky. I wonder if carplay has these issues and it's just the OS and NOT the car.
I have a pixel 8 pro and sometimes is automatically connects sometimes it doesnt. Ive just begun connecting via wire because of it and the fact that it would sometimes timeout while driving and I would lose my route on waze while driving and have to reload it all. The worst of it was when I drove through areas with no signal and couldnt reload my route at all cause my phone had no signal to download the data again. total pain in the nice person. Oh well, its not like the wireless charger works anyways, the wireless experience in this new prius was shit to begin with
@Agronomy I've lost connection randomy at times, but it usually picks back up. I find a bit of comfort is knowing it's not just me.
My Gen 5 connects to my Samsung Galaxy S23 most of the time. When it doesn't, I reboot the phone, and reconnect. I had assumed the wireless connection was Bluetooth, but apparently it's using wi-fi.
It would fail to re-establish android auto 10% of the time on my Pixel 8 pro. It seems to be a little more consistent on my 9. I still get one every now and then where nothing works and both the phone and the radio need to be restarted.
Surprising that it would fail more often than a Samsung product, considering that both Android Auto and the Pixel phone are made by the same company.
For anyone who may come across android auto issues, in developer mode if you have set your animations to 0x it will cause problems with android auto. You need at least 0.5x animation speeds. There are 3 speed settings, don't know which is the culprit because I didn't feel like fine grain testing, this is an obscure issue because no one messes with this stuff normally and I think I only ever found one other person talking about it on reddit.
