Since transmission is now "by wire", does anyone have any concerns with cutting the power after parking straight from Drive instead of hitting Park and then cutting power?

No problems skipping Park button. As you say, it is all electronic anyway, and logic selects Park automatically.

Just make sure you are absolutely stationary. It is *just* possible for 'Off' or 'P' to work when rolling slightly and you'll get a firm jerk as the parking pawl is deployed.

No issues myself, I use the park very few times when on the phone and then I almost forget to shut off the car after hanging up the phone.

I've only used "P" when I've stopped but not shutting down. I figure - why wear out the button - and moreso, my brain doing an extra step which isn't necessary. Bearing in mind GreenJuice's reminder to make sure it's absolutely stopped - (tho I'm never in a hurry these days).

I don't know how many times I've gotten out of the car after hitting park and left the car on. :D Now I just bypass Park and hit power.
