    Hi all,

Just started having trouble with the (recalled) master cylinder brake issue. My car has 191k on it and is a 2011. However, I just got a new HV battery that is still under warranty.

calling around, I’m getting a number from $2000 to $2500. Anyone have any recommendations for a mechanic in the DFW area, preferably over by Fort Worth.

That's about right in the price arena I don't know anybody in Dallas-Fort Worth most people I know in Texas would do this in their driveway but then again they do things I would imagine anybody could do this that works on Corollas Toyotas in general a highly recommended car shop in general that works on job shop car work in general this is not going to be a big problem they're going to have the computers that can bleed the brakes and all this nonsense most of the thousand plus dollar computers that are sold to car mechanics and shops today have this capability it's not anything that is strictly only capable by Toyotas TIS software so don't fall for that The parts no matter where they come from are costly Toyota I don't think there's anything in the aftermarket for this car purposely It's not worth it for the aftermarket to get involved with this now when you get above 2016 or 17 you will notice in the Corollas in a lot of Toyotas and a lot of other cars this brake pump accumulator nonsense drops to $140 rebuildable part that everybody can handle but that doesn't change until it does with the generation 3 you're stuck with this big menagerie of two-piece nonsense personally I am trying to get away from the generation 3 as quickly as possible I personally am not in one but I have two women that are and they've just not been very fun or happy cars to own engine problems the brake problems etc granted all this stuff shows up it right around 200,000 at least for me so I can't really blame Toyota I'm just used to getting $400,000 mi out of my Toyotas and the most expensive part on the car is generally the engine not a brake pump The brake pump and accumulator on the generation 3 cost me what my replacement engine from Japan cost and that to me is not sustainable but I don't really think that was Toyota's fault I think Toyota USA had a lot of input on this vehicle and when that happens things are made expensively on purpose so that people can have lots of repair work done and the Gen 3 if you are not careful you'll fall into that category very quickly. It's one car you need to use and get rid of very fast or very quickly because if you get caught at the tail end of it's useful life you'll have $8,000 in a car that's worth about $2,400 so it's not really very sustainable to me others have had different outcomes somewhat.
