I can't find any threads about daisy chaining, only that it's possible, so I'll start one. So I bought 3 over the years. Been using them in each of my cars. I decided to put all 3 of them in my Prius. I bought a daisy chain cable from Amazon to test out but it was too short for what I wanted. I commissioned my brother to make a couple of 8 inch straight CAT5 cables for me. The OBD-II cable plugs into the top Scangauge. From there, it daisy chains to the others. The top Scangauge has firmware 4.06 while the bottom 2 have 3.17. The backlight on the 4.06 and the 3.17 are different color even though they are supposedly the same color setting.
I printed the Scangauge mount out of ABS. Since my printer wasn't big enough to print in 1 piece, I had to print 3 pieces and assemble them together with screws and tape. I use non residue duct tape to hold the 2 pieces together at the top and use screws for the bottom. The loop that goes around the steering column is also non residue duct tape. The duct tape is not visible from normal driving position. The Scangauge mount does not interfere with turn signal, high beam, or the wiper/washer. The steering wheel fully tilts up and down. The only thing that I loss is about 1/2" of telescoping steering wheel.

Now I got 12 gauges going on.
    Top Scangauge
RPM - I tried the X-Gauge RPM but it updates really fast for 1/2 seconds and stops for a second. I revert back to the regular RPM instead.
MPH - Also tried X-Gauge MPH but it too updates really fast for 1/2 seconds and stops for a second. It does show 1/10MPH though. I revert back to regular MPH instead. I also Adjusted to reflect actual speed according to Police radar and GPS satellite speed.
MPG - Adjusted to reflect actual mileage instead of the Toyota exaggerated mileage.
AVG - Adjusted to reflect actual mileage instead of the Toyota exaggerated mileage.

    Left Scangauge
    SOC - State Of Charge
Amp - HV Battery Amperage draw and charge
BRK - Friction brake. Lets me know if friction brake has been activated.
M1R - M/G 1 RPM. Sometimes I switch this out to reflect Motor 2 RPM. Found out that M/G 1 spins backwards sometimes.

    Right Scangauge
XCL - Accelerator pedal position, shows 0-100. Shows 0 if I engage cruise control and releases accelerator pedal.
    fWT - Water coolant temp.
GAL - Fuel tank in US gallon. Updates quickly, fluctuates as you accelerate, brake and turns. Low fuel flashes when fuel drops to around 1.5-1.7 gallons.
VLT - 12V battery voltage. Sometimes I switch this out to reflect inverter coolant temperature.
Overall, I like the extra info. However, I don't like that it's only in digital text format.
You're welcome to suggest other X-Gauge for me to try out.

I hope you have seen the (numerous) reports of the strange things that sometimes happen when you leave a scanner plugged in too long.
I would think that your setup would make that about 300% more likely to occur.

What strange reports? I have had my scangauge plugged in for 5 years and still on my original 12v battery that checks out in good condition.

Search around a bit. Maybe someone with a better memory will jump in.

It is not usual for the scan gauge to "corrupt" the data on the bus and cause all kind of strange readings, alarms and reports.
Unplugging the scanner clears the problems.

It may depend on what parameters you are monitoring.

This condition is not unique to any particular make or model of car; all with ODBII can seem to have the problem if the scanner is left connected all the time.

It might of been with a cheapo ELM Bluetooth adapter, not the Scangauge.

I too have my scangauge plugged in for over 4 years without issues. I got 3 now so I'll have 300% more likely of no issues.

I was trying to be helpful......within reason.

I don't really CARE because I never do that.

Look a bit or don't, it's your car.
I'm not going to waste my time doing YOUR search for you.

It is not a really common situation, probably because not a LOT of drivers leave things connected all the time but I'm pretty sure I've seen reports of weird electrical problems that were solved by disconnecting the scanners............. here, in the Volt forum and maybe Fusion hybrid too.

    [edit]
OK so a Google search showed up at least 4 threads on HERE that talk about this.
Do you need for me to copy and paste so you won't have to bother yourself to go find them ???

Nice job! I'm jealous - I have 2 SC-IIs and use them in much the same way as you, although having a Gen II Prius (2009), some of the X-Gauges you've set up aren't available on the Gen II. There's a thread somewhere listing which ones I use. - Wil

    Very nifty.
Question: what did you print, and what kind of printer ?

Personally, I find that my interests tend to flit from system to system, but usually for a week or two at time ;)

Easy Rider2 may have been thinking of my experience, when I thought the Torque App confused the Prius enough to cause problems.

I use Sketchup to design a mount that holds 3 Scangauge that sits on top of the steering wheel column. I printed it using a Da Vinci 3D printer.

    (Thanks for your comment Sagebrush.)

Easy Rider 2 has visited a LOT of auto forums over a LOT of years and has a pretty good memory.
He offers things that he remembers that might be of interest or use to others.
If these things are not of interest to you, simply ignoring the suggestions is advised.

Actually all you need is a CAT 5 cable for the interconnects. I have been running this for a couple of years now with NO problems.
Easy Rider 2, either back up your claims, or don't loose it in print!

I've noticed that some of the X-Gauges on both my SC-IIs show some strange behaviour when I try to edit them (symptoms are lots of FFFFFFFFFFs and when I try to scroll through all the locations, it (and I) get confused so that most of the X-Gauge locations don't seem to be available. I've noticed that occasionally as soon as I open a door, one or the other or both gauges come on, but this might be caused by a spike on the 12V power line (see reference to Hobbit's observation in another thread), might be caused by the interior lights coming on (I just wait for a minute or so and they both switch off). hope this helps - Wil

PS: I have mine set up as:
    Upper: ICE(RPM) SecBat(Volts)
    TracBat(±Bta) GasGauge(%)
    Lower: TracBat(Soc) ICE(Horsepower)
    TracBat(btV) ICE_temp(ºF)

About 1 hour into a long drive this summer, I had a "check brakes" warning pop up. Once I disconnected my cheap bluetooth ELM adapter, the error went away. Using the same cheap adapter in my 2007 Suburban has resulted in multiple dashboard freakouts. I stopped using that adapter. I've been considering getting a scangauge, and I suspect that it's a much higher quality unit - I wouldn't hesitate to use it on either vehicle.

    Like I said.
    Thank you for your report.
IF you care, you can look and find other similar reports.
IF you don't care, then let it drop.
Not nice to shoot the messenger.
