Had my 05 Prius for almost 30 days now and under normal use, after I use the MFD for any of the functions, radio, climate, etc., it would timeout and return to the either the screen with the wheels or battery bars. Now it stay's in the function screen that I used last and the only way to return it to the Wheels or Battery Bars screen is to de-press the function button again.

How do I reset the MFD to just return to the wheel and battery bar screen upon timeout.

    Thanks

I'm assuming you have the Nav system as I do. This answer should work even if you only want the display to return to the Energy or Consumption screen.

Around the MFD there is an Info button. Push this and one of the switches (on-screen buttons) you can press is "Screen Setting."

There's the option you want. You can also select a background color from four choices. It is also possible for Users to have different settings (this is when you probably want each User to have a different color, so you will know whose "My Places" will be listed).

This works on both the navigation-equipped and non-navigation equipped packages.

Can't speak for the '05, but on my '04 (with NAV) pressing the INFO button on the steering wheel returns me to the CONSUMPTION display from wherever I had "wandered." I usually have the CONSUMPTION screen up.

Those "steering wheel" buttons are GREAT !!

If I understand your problem correctly, the screen doesn't auto return to the Energy Monitor or Consumption Screen. Press INFO --> SETTINGS and press yes to the automatic revert to energy monitor/consumption screen from audio, climate, nav (if equipped) message
