Just wanted to post a problem I figured out in case anyone else runs into it. I have a Google Pixel running Android 10. In our 2017 Highlander the track information shows up just fine along with album art, but in our new 2020 Prius Prime, the play information was blank. Installing Entune (bleargh) didn't help at all. I wound up having to enable developer mode on the phone, and setting the AVRCP version back to 1.3. The default was 1.4, and 1.5 and 1.6 didn't work either. The track info shows up now, but not any album art. Better than nothing though.

P.S. Also wanted to complain about the fact that there's no way to pause the music from the main home screen (or steering wheel I assume). You need to bring up the audio panel, then wait a few seconds for the "Powerd by Gracenote" logo to disappear because it is right over the tiny pause button.

The 2020 Highlander Hybrid coming out in February is supposed to have Android Auto. Here's hoping that makes its way into the Prius as an update as well.

Toyota changed their setting such that the parking brake has to be applied to view album art (not sure why).

Otherwise, track info such as title, album and artist should show up.

Thanks for the tip about AVRCP 1.3! I'll try this right away on my Pixel 2 with Android 10. Track info used to show up but stopped working at some point. Must have been an android update.

Regarding the annoying gracenote logo, you can tap it to make it disappear immediately.

Edit: Setting AVRCP 1.3 in developer options worked! I did have to reboot my phone after making the change. Track information shows up on the car display when using bluetooth again.

Holding the Mode Button on the steering wheel usually pauses does it not?
