... without Tonto, Lone Ranger got himself lost. Superman fell off a horse. Spiderman got himself wiped out by the malathion. American Motors gone belly up, Bruce Lee brain-dead with a cerebral edema, there's no more green Hornet to save us.

EXTRA-EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT! Alvin Bragg gone ape on selective prosecution, put Batman on the couch, off the charts with an 8.9 A1C, nursing his type II diabetes:

To be pardoned and to be paid may not be equivalent really. I'm not seeing how motivated I'd be to do a crime if the payoff I looked forward to was maybe getting a pardon, after going through arraignment and trial and sentencing and time served, etc.

    @ "America's BEST days...."

I remember hearing that once before in the 70's........just before Regan.
AND I remember still being a REAL FREEKIN liberal back in those days - wishing 'Merica still lived up to those lofty ideals.

Nostalgia = 'History + three drinks'

Were any of those convictions from as far back as 11 years? Or even "might have done" crimes in the past 11 years? Especially after the leftist media continually bragged about how this administration (comparing itself to the last Administration) isn't "above the law"? Maybe it isn't & maybe it is. This quantity of get out of jail cards might qualify for the Guinness Book of World Records,
... some 1500 or so commutations & pardons. With that many, odds are there's at least a few that may deserve it. But going back 11 years? Because some crimes statute of limitations are only 10 years?
    LOL.

Thread title sees to claim America is past her prime. I cannot read spectator.com so I don’t know if it speaks in support.

But I do not agree. No country now exceeds USA in many areas I could mention. USA falls behind in some other areas, but on balance +++. I see no evidence that USA could be surpassed soon where it excels.

Some might ask then, why am I not there? I found employment and personal fulfillment elsewhere. If that seems odd, let me ask USA residents if they reside in the state they see as best. If not, employment and personal fulfillment might have put you elsewhere.

No recent USA govt variation has undone it, and I very much doubt that the coming govt variation could.

Everyone has their own opinions though, and shall we discuss those?

It is in the Constitution, nothing wrong with Pres Biden’s activities. It’s elect you have to worry about breaking laws, not Pres Biden.
We just heard elect trying to negate birth right citizenship by saying people are citizens if they get on American soil. He doesn’t even hear the word birth in birth right. Doesn’t have a clue what he is talking about. Wasn’t that in a video posted here recently? This is not made up, he is the one saying it.

Pres Biden has done nothing wrong. It’s not what about ism to say the elect has, and point out his complete lack of accountability to his flock. He can say citizenship is granted by stepping on American soil and the flock has no trouble with that. Whataboutism is when someone does wrong, even convicted and people say whatabout that one over there. Pres Biden has done no wrongs.
I never preached on the ills of ivermectin. I said that’s what they give for worms.

    Actually?
    I CAN read spectator.com.
    I choose not to.
I figure if nostalgia is 'history after three drinks' and Americans are not great at history BEFORE the drinks?
    .....well.....
    +1
    Not me.
I do not question the motives of ex-pats.
MOST I have found, are hounorable.
I would prefer not to know if you’re a non-voter, though.

    My Bias.

I was disenfranchised, mostly by one party while serving overseas in the military back in the pre-UOCAVA days.
I was also hauled into court for four days last year by an ‘election denier’ who questioned our absentee voting practices.
If the cure for disinformation is MORE information, and NOT censorship, then the ‘perhaps’ the cure for election denialism lies in MORE people voting - not fewer.

I think that mandated voting is a poor (if not malevolent) solution, so I will assiduously defend someone’s right to not participate the same way I would defend someone’s right to fly the so-called rebel flag.
I would also perhaps think less of them for doing so.

    Again…..
    MY mileage.

    Yours might vary.

I have a brother that's trapped behind the tinsel curtain - so I get constant reporting from behind the wire.

Envy your sister MORE - even with the higher insect count and the daily three digit race between temperature and humidity.
I actually like New England quite a bit more than I should but I am protected by economics from being tempted to live there.
Going back to Groton is on the bucket list, and my CFO has never been - so............

Isn't that what they thought when Biden Kamala took office?
And how did that go, according to the election.
