My eldest son is so enthusiastic about playing football this year that he keeps volunteering to do skirmishes with other teams and wants to go "training" to the park on the off days.

He has even gone so far as to volunteer to be a helper to the professional women's team here.

This is all well and good and you can imagine my pride when the other kids smack him on the rump, mustering all the testosterone they can at the tender age of 14, and call him "the mini fridge".

The problem comes because we live in Oregon. It rains here. A lot.

Coupled with the fact that football is an outdoor sport, this leaves me with the task of transporting a 6 ft. something 210 lb. Hunk of dripping wet, muddy, sweaty, happiness.

You can well imagine my dilemma. I don't have a leather interior, or this would be an easy fix. I thought about laying him down in the back, but I'm sure the coppers are around every corner, my license plate in hand, just waiting for me to slip up.

    What's a mom to do?

Do you think I could get some all weather seat covers?

    Octavia,

I am always very leery of aftermarket seat covers as they can affect side air bag deployment. This could redirect the deployment, causing your more physical harm than good if, God forbid, you should need them. :( I don't mean to discourage -- just be careful.

(NB: Fix your title under your user name -- looks like you may be missing an "R".)

Thanks for the heads up. :) Believe it or not, that was on purpose. I had great fun being a "fairy pincess!" for halloween this year. A bit of childhood regression never hurt anyone I say!

But you are right, it's time to change it. Really does just make me look like a worse speller than I am, and I don't need any help proving that I'm a bad speller!

I would just lay a beach towel or two across the seat from head to toe, or get him some larger wind pants and a sweatshirt to throw on over his wet clothes. As long as the drive isn't too far I would think those would be sufficient.
