Does anyone's car alarm go off right after starting the car? And if so what is the best way to turn off alarm without turning the car off?

What does the alarm sound like? Trying to figure out what alarm you are talking about.

What exactly have you done after getting in the car (step by step)?

There are alarms associated with "in reverse", seat belts, emergency brake on etc but those have a dash light indication that turns on too. See any of those?

What does your display panel look like?

The alarm is the horn. I unlock the car thru keyless entry, get in, press power, put it in gear (this has happened in drive & reverse), and then there will be 3 or 4 quick honks, then the alarm will go off. I have been disarming by using the fob, then pressing power to turn car off. This happens randomly.

Is this an OEM alarm system or a dealer installed aftermarket unit? Where are you located?

I believe it is a Karr system. I am in Northern California.

That's not OEM. Sounds like an issue with installation. I would return the dealer that installed it.

I would suggest removing the Karr alarm all together, I have seen plenty of vehicles with issues related to the Karr alarms. The reason the dealers install them is because they are VERY cheap and they take minutes to install, they give people a false sense of security. I wold only suggest using name brand alarms like Viper, Clifford or Avital. That's just my two cents though
