Hi all, I bought my Prius 2 years ago used. It came with a aftermarket sunroof. Lately it has been moving slow, and just the other day died completely (luckily it is fully shut, but won't open)

Any idea where the fuse would be? Or how to check it before ruling it broken? Thx

Motor most likely died. If the DC motor contains replaceable carbon brushes, maybe just the brushes need to be replaced?

Try looking at the 12V battery post. Do you see anything that is clearly not factory, connected there/nearby? If everything looks stock, installer made a 12V+ connection elsewhere. Find it.

Ask the owner who had the moonroof installed, who did the installation. Then ask the person/shop, where is the 12V+ (always hot), terminated? Was it at the 12V battery post? Was it at another location, that is not obvious. Did they just tap into a wire that had a 12V+ and was of sufficient gauge wire to support the moonroof motor.
