Adding Fog Lights

Discussion in 'Knowledge Base Articles Discussion' started by TheParadox66b, Jun 27, 2006.

  1. I would like to know if anyone has any information as to wiring diagrams, parts, etc, locations... blah blah to add on fog lights.

I have ordered a grille from Here and plan on someday adding fog lights as well as the associated wiring and switchs.

    anyone?

no but if you really want foglights, I'm sure many people here will advise that you find a good set of aftermarket ones. Toyota OEM ones aren't exactly the great. I'll change my bulbs whenever I feel like it and when I have extra cash to blow (which won't be any time soon). Compared to my Silverstars, they're not worth turning on for seeing things but just to be seen in adverse conditions.

Here is the original Toyota part number for the fog lights 81211-52070 times two. Left and right are the same part number. The grilles that surround them are 53112-47030 and 53113-47030 (left and right) The bulbs are standard 9006 bulbs that can be found in ANY auto parts store. The wiring I got on ebay. Here is what I used...

The kit had the correct plugs for the bulbs. It had a relay even a switch. A simple positive and negative connection. No big deal. From the outside they look stock because they are.

The original grilles pop right out. Gently pull them out. The lamps literally snap in. The bumper is molded for them even on the non fog light cars. The new grilles also snap right in. It couldn't be easier.

Do you really need fog lights? I have them on Lola- used them once. Mostly to see if they worked. They didn't make much difference with visibility.

This is not a debate on the effectiveness of fog lights. It's a "How to" on the installation of them!

I found some blueish HID look-a-likes that my friend has on his Civic. Does anyone know the size of the openings?
