Adding a 12v power outlet in the back

    I got my red 2006 Prius less than a week ago, and I am starting to look into modifications. I would like to power my electric cooler in the cargo compartment. (I have gotten used to using it in the back of my CR-V.)

    Has anyone installed an additional 12v power outlet in the cargo area? Are there kits or instructions already available somewhere?

    Well I suppose you could use the 12v mod available from Coastal...but since the stock battery is already back there, I would think it would be much easier to just tap onto both terminals. You can get an outlet in just about any auto parts store. You just have to make sure you want it constant 12v...and do not accidentally leave it running!

    I would suggest one of the many extension cords available at AutoParts stores for about $5.00 and conceal it from the front to the back, can be done under seats, car mats, etc.

    That would probably be the best and easiest way. Just make sure to use a fuse in-line.
