Hopefully none of you have burnt through a tank of gas, but when you reach the awful moment of going to the gas station, inquiring minds would like to know the results :)

www.fuelly.com has added Prius Plug-in to the list for 'add new vehicle' :)

If you can post the EV driving ratio, kWh and gallons consumption, please do, thx.

I'm looking to fill up in the next day. I have gone 500 miles and have about 100 miles left "in the tank". Right now it's reporting 63 mpg. This has been a mix of my commute and my wifes. My wife does 35 miles mostly freeway(ice) and mine is 9 miles, surface streets (mostly EV).

It shows about 110+ miles on EV and the rest on HV. Will report actual numbers when i gas up.

Can you post the EV Driving Ratio screen that shows the kWh and Gallon consumption as well?

Ok here we go. Filled up on the way home. Overall 530 miles on about 8.3 gallons. Almost 64 mpg. Not bad for the first week and a half.

im very glad to see Pip indicated gas mileage matches calculated numbers at the pump.
Gen3 Prius has traditionaly overstated indicated consumption numbers

The price of gas out there is shocking.

Just filled up tonight. Drove 500 miles and filled 8 gallons. The computer was accurate at 63. Had about another 55 miles but wanted to get gas on base.

90% highway miles with charges only on the way to work. Wish I could charge her up at work.

27.3 kWh/100mi on electricity and 51 MPG on gas. Doing better than EPA figures!

The car kept track of it. From that screenshot, it used 33 kWh which is about a gallon equivalent. He went 121 miles with it.

I'm not sure I'm impressed with the overall gas mileage though.
If these folks would have gotten 47 mpg in a regular Prius, then it's about a 40% improvement. Pretty good.
If they would have gotten the 55 mpg I usually get in a normal Prius, then it'sless than a 20% improvement.
I wish I could drive one for a week. I was hoping a on 75-80 mpg.

It all depends on how often you can charge...

If you can drive 1/2 of your miles on EV, you get 100MPG.

Ouch. 3.849/4.32 Our has been rising fast and is now at $3.25 in colorado springs. I was glad I have not had to buy gas in the last 3000+ miles :D

Good to see real data. Pretty much what is expected given EPA data (11miles-> 22% EV utility factor).

True, but I think driving technique and the way the EV range is used will be important too.
Are they driving using their EV range in EV mode then driving in charge sustain HV mode , or using their EV range in charge deplete HV mode.
I get the impression that many Pip owners are also first time Prius owner.

To me the key dependency is the average trip distance between charging. The closer you are to 15 miles per trip the better your overall average MPG will be. For us, based on our typical driving habits, I'm hoping for 104 MPG during a generic week. We'll see...but I agree with an earlier comment that it would be great to try one out for a week before buying. Twould be fun!

    :)
