I heard from my uncle that his friend adds acetone to his gas right in his gas tank and gets about 25% better gas mileage. I then got to thinking and decided to look into it. I found a web site that talks about it and gets into some details. It seems that it breaks the surface tension and allows the gas to burn better.
So for the few that might know about this issue, some qustions to ponder on:
    Damaging to hybrid system?
    Ok for the bladder?
Ok for injectors and the such?
    Here's the site

Well on this page, a man states his results adding the acetone.

I think it would be bad for the bladder even if it is good for the mileage. I am not sure what would happen should it eat through the bladder. I get 54 mpg without the acetone so I am not going to risk it.

There was a big debate about using it with our diesel fuel in our F250s. It is risky. If it was safe for all engines I am sure the oil companies would add it to all gas.

Not just the bladder, but any rubber components. Same concern as for E85.
