I had an earlier post about issues when braking. The car is jerking forward every time I brake. So, today I took the car to my local dealer for a complimentary brake inspection, and they are telling me that the ABS is kicking every time I brake, and that is not suppose to do that. They want $130.00 to do a further diagnostic to tell me what the problem is. I was wondering if any of you guys ever had a problem similar to mine and know what to do about it. Thank you..
Have you fitted any new tyres recently and are all your tyres the same size? Have you any warning lights? John (Britprius)
The usual culprits are wheel speed sensors, but these would through a fault code, the brake ECU or the reason I asked one different size tyre that confuses the ECU by giving a different wheel speed for that wheel. When you brake the ECU see one wheel going slower and assumes that wheel is beginning to lock, activating the ABS to release the brake on that wheel. It may be that a linear solenoid valve calibration is needed. "Dealer only unless you have a mini VCI with Techstream." John (Britprius)
